The pour

Watch the scale, not the clock: each mark is the total weight in the server.

  1. 0:0060 g · Bloom
  2. 0:45300 g
  3. 1:15500 g
  4. The drawdown ends around 3:30

Method

  1. Rinse the filter with hot water and throw it away. Dig 30 g of coffee, throw it, make a hole in the center and put the scale to zero.

  2. 0: 00: pour 60 g of freshly boiled water and turn the cone with energy to get all the coffee wet. Wait until 45 seconds.

  3. 0: 45: Pour slowly up to 300 g, ending at the 1: 15 minute.

  4. 1: 15: continues to pour, a little slower, up to 500 g towards the minute 1: 45.

  5. Remove once in each sense with a spoon to take off the coffee from the walls and turn the cone gently. Let it filter: it should end by 3: 30.

If it takes much longer, grind thicker; if it ends before 3: 00, thinner.

Tips and warnings

  • James Hoffmann's technique, explained in his video "The Ultimate V60 Technique" (2019). This is our explanation of their quantities and times; to see it, look for the video on your channel.
  • Very hot water for clear nuts; it goes down to 94 ° C if the skin is medium.

One last thing

Bloom, two spills and one turn. If the cup has convinced you, a ko‑fi is the best whirlpool.
