Breast

The usual electric kettle. It heats up the fast water for almost any method; with a bit of water, it even serves the drip.

Indicative price
€15–50
Capacity
1–1,7 l

An electric kettle heats up the water in a few minutes and goes out alone. For the French press, the AeroPress or the Clever Dripper, or for already hot water in the moka, that's all you need.

To approach the temperature without thermometer: the water just boiled, after about 30 seconds of rest, is about 95-96 ° C. For dark tweets, wait a little longer.

  • In favor: fast, cheap and present in almost all kitchens.
  • In favour: more efficient than heating the water in a bowl.
  • Against: the jet is wide and not precise for manual drip.
  • Against: Most do not regulate the temperature.

It costs €15-50. Best of steel or glass, with level indicator and revolving base. If the water in your area is hard, take it down from time to time.

Cheapest alternative: a fire spleen, which serves the same even if it takes longer.

This coffee bar runs on coffee… literally. And the odd ko‑fi.
