Pink Bourbon appeared in Huila, Colombia, and is immediately recognized for its mature, pink cherries. For years it was thought he was a Bourbon guy, and hence the name.

But it's not a Bourbon. DNA analysis of 2017 and 2023 indicate that it comes from an Ethiopian landrace, in the line of other amazing varieties such as Sidra. The name has been kept as usual.

In the cup it reminds more of an Ethiopian coffee than of a classic Bourbon: floral notes, red fruit and a lot of sweetness.

  • Origin: Huila, Colombia.
  • Genetic: Ethiopian landrace.
  • Pink cherries when you grow up.

It is a sought after variety, ideal for filter. Prepare it in V60 or Kalita with clear tweets, at 93-94 ° C, and let the floral aroma mark the rhythm. If you have a washed Ethiopian coffee at hand, compare them: you will be surprised by the resemblance.
