Blue Mountain is one of the world's most famous coffee denominations. Only the coffee of the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, in the parishes of St Andrew, St Thomas, Portland and St Mary, grown between 910 and 1,700 m, can be named. The lowest coffee is sold as "High Mountain."

The certification mark is controlled by an official body, the JACRA. A large part of the production is exported to Japan, and it is an expensive coffee.

The harvest goes more or less from August or September to March, and is processed in washing. The traditional variety is the Typica.

In the cup it is soft, sweet and very clean, with low bitterness. Don't look for fireworks: its virtue is balance.

  • Look at the certification: a mix "Blue Mountain style" is not the same.
  • Buy little and take it fresh.

If you get a real one, prepare it in V60, Chemex or siphon, with your own city, and without milk.
