Catuai was born at the Agronomic Institute of Campinas (IAC) in Brazil when he crossed World Novo with Caturra. The idea was to add the strength of the first to the compact size of the second, and the result worked: a low, productive plant that holds the wind well.

There are red and yellow Catuai, depending on the color of the ripe cherry. It is grown much in Brazil and Central America.

In the cup it is balanced and soft, without ends. It does not usually give the floral notes of a Geisha or the acidity of a SL28, but it does give round and easy-to-drink cafes.

  • Parents: World Novo and Caturra.
  • Compact and wind-resistant plant.
  • High productivity, rust sensitive.

It's a variety of diaries, of those you may have taken many times without knowing. It works very well in espresso, moka and drip coffee maker, and holds your means without losing sweetness.

This coffee bar runs on coffee… literally. And the odd ko‑fi.
